ROKY Holdings conducted practical training sessions at Ambanpola Primary School and Madawakkulama Maha Vidyalaya. These sessions engaged students, teachers, non-academic staff, and parents, teaching them how to operate and maintain the water treatment systems efficiently. This project was done in partnership with the National Water Supply & Drainage Board (NWSDB) and funded by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), has successfully advanced water treatment projects in the Kurunegala and Puttalam districts. These initiatives focus on installing advanced Reverse Osmosis (RO) and Nano water filtration systems in selected schools and community centers. The main objective is to provide clean and safe drinking water, which is essential for public health, wellbeing, and academic performance.
Installation alone does not guarantee long-term success. ROKY Holdings emphasizes proper training and routine maintenance to ensure sustainable results. Educating the community reduces the risk of system malfunctions and extends the lifespan of the equipment. The RO and Nano filtration systems are fully automated, using modern technology for ease of use and consistent performance. Training sessions help communities understand daily operations, troubleshoot minor issues, and monitor water quality. Well-maintained systems also reduce waterborne diseases and prevent disruptions in schools and households. Moreover, the training fosters environmental awareness and encourages responsible water use. By equipping communities with knowledge and skills, ROKY Holdings strengthens resilience and ensures that safe water access remains uninterrupted.
The Kurunegala and Puttalam projects already deliver tangible benefits. Communities now enjoy reliable access to clean water, improving health, hygiene, and daily life. Trained students, staff, and parents actively participate in system upkeep, enhancing sustainability. The collaboration between ROKY Holdings, NWSDB, UNDP, and local stakeholders highlights the importance of teamwork in achieving long-term impact. Special recognition goes to school principals, donors, and community leaders who supported the training sessions. Their involvement ensures the systems continue to function efficiently and benefit future generations. By combining advanced technology, community empowerment, and ongoing education, ROKY Holdings provides sustainable, life-enhancing water solutions. These projects demonstrate that clean water, practical training, and local engagement form the foundation for healthier, more resilient communities in Sri Lanka.
“Empowered communities and sustainable systems together secure clean water for generations to come.”
