On December 14th, 2023, ROKY Holdings completed a vital Reverse Osmosis water purification system in Mallavi, Sri Lanka. The system was installed at the Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, a central hub for the surrounding community. This marked ROKY Holdings’ fifth such project in 2023 with the Foundation of Goodness, a long-standing nonprofit partner. Both organisations share a mission to deliver essential services that uplift underserved communities across Sri Lanka.
Mallavi has long struggled with poor water quality and limited access to safe drinking sources. The installation directly responds to these challenges, offering a sustainable water purification solution for hundreds of local residents and church visitors. This initiative reflects ROKY Holdings’ commitment to community-driven infrastructure development that prioritises health and dignity. It also highlights the importance of strategic partnerships in delivering rapid, high-impact projects.
Mallavi is a remote area with limited infrastructure and logistical complexity, which made timely delivery especially challenging. Despite these barriers, the project moved forward efficiently thanks to strong coordination between engineers, local stakeholders, and Foundation of Goodness representatives.
Every phase—from feasibility assessment to installation—was completed within just one month, a remarkable achievement under constrained conditions. The team began with detailed water testing, identifying key contaminants that threatened the community’s health and well-being. Based on those findings, they designed a customized RO system tailored to site-specific environmental and technical needs. Civil construction followed swiftly, supported by clear communication and adherence to quality assurance protocols. Clean water access is no longer a distant hope for the church and its surrounding population.
Today, the system delivers safe drinking water daily, reducing waterborne disease risk and enhancing quality of life. For many residents, this marks the first time they can confidently consume water without fear of illness or contamination. Additionally, church gatherings and public events now operate with a new level of safety and comfort.
The Mallavi RO installation is more than a technical achievement—it is a meaningful step toward long-term community resilience. Completed within one month, the project met both timeline and quality benchmarks, thanks to strong planning and expert execution.
The fully operational system now provides clean water to the church and surrounding community, serving as a daily lifeline.
Health outcomes are expected to improve, and community morale has already seen a noticeable boost. For ROKY Holdings, the project reinforces its role as a responsive, mission-driven service provider in the water sector. As we look ahead, we remain committed to expanding access to clean water across Sri Lanka.
