50,000 LPD water treatment plant installation in Gampaha

Introduction to this project

On July 18th, 2024, ROKY Holdings completed the installation of a 50,000 LPD water treatment plant at Holy Cross College, Gampaha. This project was initiated to address the school’s urgent need for a consistent supply of clean, safe drinking water. With over 2,000 students and staff relying on campus facilities each day, the demand for water safety had steadily increased. Recognizing the importance of health and hygiene in schools, ROKY Holdings partnered with the school administration to deliver a sustainable solution. The goal was to install a high-capacity treatment system that would meet daily water requirements without compromising on quality. This initiative supports the school’s mission to create a safe and healthy learning environment for all.

Importance of the installation of the water treatment plant

Before this project, the school faced frequent concerns about water quality and safety. Students often brought bottled water, and staff relied on outdated filtration systems. These options were costly and inconsistent, creating both financial and health-related burdens. The new system now provides a dependable source of purified water directly on campus. Advanced treatment methods, including sediment filtration and activated carbon, ensure removal of harmful contaminants. As a result, the school community can trust that every drop meets health standards. This improvement also encourages better hygiene practices and reduces the risk of waterborne illness. It is more than a technical upgrade—it’s a boost to overall wellbeing.

Summary

The project was completed within four weeks and is now fully operational. The system treats up to 50,000 liters per day, supporting hydration, hygiene, and overall school health. This installation solves a long-standing problem while offering a scalable, low-maintenance solution for the future. ROKY Holdings views this project as a meaningful step in supporting Sri Lanka’s education sector through infrastructure. The company remains committed to building healthier, more resilient communities—one project at a time. \
