Second anniversary celebration at ROKY Holdings

Introduction to the second anniversary celebration

To mark the second anniversary of ROKY Holdings, our team collaborated with the Foundation of Goodness to donate four advanced water purification systems to two institutions: Camilla School in Mattegoda and the Peter Weerasekara Children’s Home in Yakkala. This special initiative served dual purposes: it commemorated ROKY’s milestone and addressed critical water quality concerns. Through these partnerships, we aimed to support vulnerable children and staff by improving access to clean drinking water and enhancing their overall well‑being.

Impact of this initiative

Groundwater sources often carry hard minerals or contaminants that may contribute to long‑term health concerns. In many communities, even institutional tap water may not meet safe drinking standards unless filtered or boiled—a practice still not widespread in some remote or rural settings. In addition to technical need, we recognized the importance of mental and emotional wellness among children in residential care. Mental health awareness and support remain limited across Sri Lanka, particularly in institutional environments. To enrich the experience, our staff organized musical sessions with the children and caregivers, spending a few hours offering interaction, joy, and emotional uplift.

Summary

Over the course of two days, ROKY Holdings and the Foundation of Goodness successfully delivered and installed four advanced water purification units. The installations were paired with light musical engagements to support mental wellness among the children and staff. These systems will significantly improve quality of life by providing safer, cleaner water—reducing risks associated with contaminated or mineral‑laden drinking supplies. Even beyond hydration, the initiative fostered moments of happiness and connection, addressing emotional health as well as physical need. For ROKY Holdings, this project exemplifies our values of community service, well‑being, and meaningful impact. By combining sustainable infrastructure with empathy-led human interaction, we demonstrated how clean water and shared joy can together elevate the lives of young people in care.

“Together, we bring clean water and heartfelt care—because every child deserves health, happiness, and hope.”
