We at ROKY Holdings are proud to share the successful completion of another important project—a fully functioning RO water purification system for the village of Kurunegala. This project was made possible in partnership with the Foundation of Goodness Society, who generously supported the initiative financially. This marks their fourth water filtration project in 2023, and we feel honored to be part of this meaningful journey. The system was carefully installed within the village temple premises, providing every villager with access to clean and safe drinking water. Our civil construction team also built the small building that now houses the RO system.
Like any project with deep impact, we faced challenges along the way. When we first visited the village of Bamunukotuwa, we quickly realized the water supply relied solely on three drainage systems. Testing the water samples revealed below-average quality that put the villagers at a higher risk of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD). The need for a clean water solution was urgent, and we immediately committed ourselves to bringing this change.
Starting the project in November was tough because it is Kurunegala’s rainiest month due to the northeast monsoon. The heavy and constant rains slowed us down, but they never stopped our dedicated team. Every member—from engineers to builders—worked tirelessly through the wet conditions, driven by the knowledge that clean water could transform lives. We pushed forward, motivated by the smiles and hope we saw in the community. In just one month, we completed the installation and gave the village access to safe, clean water—a vital gift that we hope will bring health and happiness for years to come.

Thanks to the financial sponsorship of the Foundation of Goodness (FOG) Society, this became their fourth water filtration project in 2023. For us at ROKY Holdings, this project was more than just an installation—it was a chance to change lives and strengthen a community. We are proud to have played a role in bringing clean, safe water to this village, and we look forward to continuing our mission to support rural communities across Sri Lanka.
