On the 19th of September 2025, ROKY Holdings proudly handed over an Advanced Reverse Osmosis (RO) Water Treatment Plant to the people of Godaporuyaya, Wewatta, Mahiyanganaya. This project addressed the village’s long-standing struggle with safe drinking water. For years, residents suffered from groundwater contamination, which contained high fluoride and other harmful impurities.
The villagers organized a ceremonial event to celebrate the official opening. The gathering created a meaningful moment, as it marked a new milestone for their community and a hopeful step toward a healthier future.
Godaporuyaya and nearby areas constantly faced unsafe water conditions. The lack of purified water increased the risk of chronic diseases and waterborne illnesses. Therefore, the community required a reliable solution that could directly reduce health risks and improve daily life.
The Advanced RO system gave the community more than just technology; it offered a lifeline. ROKY Holdings constructed a dedicated facility, integrated energy-efficient components, and customized the design to meet the unique water conditions in Mahiyanganaya.
Although the rural setting posed challenges with limited access, the team completed the project on schedule. Moreover, they maintained strict standards of safety, efficiency, and durability throughout the process. As a result, the plant began serving villagers without delay.
With the new plant in operation, the people of Godaporuyaya finally gained daily access to safe and clean drinking water. This improvement will significantly reduce health issues and create a better quality of life. In addition, the reliable water supply strengthens the community’s resilience for the future.
The ceremonial handover reflected the villagers’ deep gratitude. It symbolized progress, unity, and the start of a new chapter in their lives.
